On the July 11, 2006 edition of The Colbert Report in a Special Report entitled Our Kids: What the Hell Is Wrong with Them? Stephen sat down in bean bag chairs with Tony Hawk to nail him for corrupting America's Youth through the so-called 'sport' of sidewalk board-skating.
Hawk, a 38-year old youth, claims to understand The Kids and the always-on, go-go-go lifestyle of today's young persons.
He espoused the philosophy of "If you break something, like an elbow, don't do it that way again. Break something else."
Tony has kids himself (children having children - another problem Stephen will be forced to solve) and thus has to strike the fine line of the 'cool dad' and the 'harsh dad.'
Through elaborate camera trickery and editing, Tony Hawk claimed to have performed the world's first 900°, even though Stephen had nailed that trick years earlier. One of the bonus reward cutscenes in the video game 'Stephen Colbert's Escape From Skateboard Mountain' clearly shows Stephen pulling a 900° on Bill O'Reilly's half-pipe. Stephen named the trick the "Papa Bear" in O'Reilly's honor..
