The Colbert Report Special Reports
is a featured segment of
the Greatest American Television Show--EVER!!!, The Colbert Report.

On occasion, Stephen Colbert will devote an entire episode of The Colbert Report to a specific theme, referred to as a "Colbert Report Special Reports" (with the 't' in the second 'report' enunciated in contrast to the silent 't' in the first). All normal recurring segments including The Wørd are influenced by the theme, as is the interview. Before the interview, Colbert adds some theme-related flourish to his walk from the C Desk to the Axe Body Spray Interview Zone. There have been twelve Special Reports so far:

August 3, 2006 War: What It's Good For Paul Hackett The camera crawls on the ground to the interview table. At the end of the interview introduces the Stephen Colbert World War III Eternal Flame (copyrighted by Stephen Colbert, all unauthorized use prohibited, so don't even think about it).
August 23, 2006 American Pop Culture: It's Crumbelievable Gideon Yago The screen splits into three sections.
October 10, 2006 A Salute to the American Lady Ariel Levy Artfully walks across in a pair of tasteful red high heels.
February 13, 2007 Apocalypse Mao: Murdered by the Orient's Success Sheryl WuDunn Using a costume he turned into a lion. He regales the audience with the best display of lion dancing ever seen on late-night American television, and is subsequently complimented on his skill from rousing audience applause and compliments from the guest.
August 14, 2007 DNA: Could It Happen To You? Jerry Miller, Spencer Wells Trots along to the desk area, only to have 3 of his clones to start a session of mutual applause.
