  • when reporters agreed not to reveal unflattering information about 2008 Republican Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, until after the campaign[1]
  • when the National Bureau of Economic Research admitted in December, 2008[2] that the United States had been in a recession since December, 2007.
