A monument made in honor of shoe-throwing Iraqi journalist Muntadhir al-Zaidi, Tikrit, Iraq, 27 January, 2009.

The $5,000 monument was created by sculptor Laith al-Amiri and erected in 15 days with the help of local orphans. The shoe is made of fiberglass and coated with copper and sits on a concrete base. The entire monument is 11.5 feet high. The shoe is 8.2 feet long and 4.9 feet wide.
