The white-gloved hands of curator Clark Evans adjusts the Lincoln Bible on a table at the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., 23 December, 2008.

This is the Bible Obama has selected to be used on his inaugural January 20, 2009; it has not been used in an inaugural since Abraham Lincoln used it on March 4, 1861. The edges of the pages are gilded with gold and the cover is burgundy velvet and it is inscribed by William Thomas Carroll, a clerk of the Supreme Court[1].
