Screengrab of Dr. Colbert's guest, author and lawyer John Grisham realizing what a well set-up joke sounds like in person as Stephen delivers the punch line. (2 of 2)
Dr. Colbert innocently asks Grisham to verify some of the details about his book, describing the journey of the down on his luck American quarterback from the Cleveland Browns who blows it in a playoff game and travels to Europe and falls in love with red wine and opera. Adding that it is highly improbable.
All the while Grisham is complaining that Dr. Colbert is giving away the entire plot of his book.
Dr. Colbert then says he doesn't believe that the Cleveland Browns would ever win the AFC championships.
This image is of the look on Grisham's face after realizing he fell for it.
Nor is it in any way a commentary on Grisham's ability to tell a compelling story.
