Unidentified workers lower the railcar "Sinai" onto the tracks of the "Angels Flight" funicular, downtown Los Angeles, California, 01 November, 2008.

Beginning in 1901, it was closed twice:

  • the first time in 1969
  • and closed again following a fatal accident in 2001 after being reopened in 1996
