The 11th was profiled for the 46th installment of the
435 434 part series, Better Know A District, on May 3, 2007.
Located just outside Washington, D.C., the Fightin' 11th is one of the richest districts in the United States and boasts suburbs like Tyson's Corner, which has this nation's largest concentration of office space. Visitors to the area should check out such landmarks as the first floor conference room, the second floor conference room, and the small conference room on the fourth floor -- the one with the video projector that's not working.
The 11th is the home of Mount Vernon, the home of our first President, George Washington, who cut down the cherry tree, making him the original brush clearer.
Fairfax County hosts the noted Civil War Weekend, where visitors partake in battle re-enactments and come face to face with the anguish and turmoil of the Civil War. Plus, funnel cakes!
The 11th is also the home of John "Tiny" Hartman, drummer for The Doobie Brothers.
Over 120 foreign languages are spoken in the district, Dopelish is not one of them.
