American Samoa's At Large District, The Fightin' At Large! is a United States Protectorate, represented in Congress by non-voting delegate Eni Faleomavaega.
Lying 14 degrees below the Equator, American Samoa is known as "the heart of Polynesia." Historians believe the islands were settled as early as 1000 B.C. by Polynesians who blindly set out to sea in canoes. To be fair, back in 1000 B.C. Google Maps was still in early beta.
Today, a third of the Samoan economy comes from Starkist and Chicken of the Sea, lynchpins of the islands' bustling tuna-canning industry. The island sees substantially less revenue from its accidentally canned dolphin, "Human of the Sea."
30 players in the National Football League are of Samoan descent.
