Mama mia! That's a spicy Congressa-man!

Bill Pascrell Jr. is the 6-term House Representative to Congress for New Jersey's 8th District, The Fightin' 8th!

He took time out between the gun and the cannoli to be interviewed for part 11 of the 435 434 part series Better Know A District on the January 25, 2006 edition of The Colbert Report.

Congressman Pascrell likes to call New Jersey 'Jersey' because he believes it makes New Jersey sound 'cool.' If that's true, why don't people from New York call it 'York?'

Pascrell denies he is a flip-flopper: And yet, he voted for the war in Iraq (thank you for supporting our President) but now calls his vote a mistake.

Pascrell also claims to not know Jack Abramoff, despite the clearly doctored photo that Stephen showed him.

Further, Pascrell says he is 100% Italian-American, despite the fact that his name does not end in a vowel. When pressed, Pascrell could not name a single other Italian whose name does not end in a vowel.

Pascrell has introduced legislation condemning Italian-American stereotypes in film and television, so Stephen showed the Congressman a recut version of The Godfather with all of the Italian-American stereotypes excised. Pascrell agreed it was a mistake and dragged a bit in the middle.
