Rotsky (Internets Meme)
- to make a show of changing another person's proper spelling, grammar or punctuation to something that is incorrect, especially when no change was warranted
A rotsky is composed of two elements:
- the "correction" which is a copy/paste of the original post, with the "error" slashed out followed immediately by the "improvement"
- the show of magnanimity usually in the form: "Sorry, pet peeve". This element comes off as contrite or even sarcastic, since it is shamefully mistaken
- when Dan Quayle "corrected" a student's "misspelling" of potato (see image above)
