Ritalin is the brand name for, methylphenidate, a drug that makes Tom Cruise jump on other people's furniture.

It's also a drug that makes kids high and zone out from reality. This side effect is commonly referred to as "better able to focus". Parents (mainly the liberal ones) who are too lazy to actually discipline their children, give this drug to them to make them behave. It doesn't, of course, but it makes teachers and school administrators happy; instead of actually teaching the kids anything, they can all sit there quietly, collecting state money just for being there.

After a cursory review, the doctor recommends Ritalin undergo drastic invasive surgery and perhaps a few more medicines.
