Poon-Tang

When I was just a child, it was my greatest ambition to someday be the person to write the Poon-Tang entry for a great reference work. An unusual ambition, you say? Perhaps. But it was my dear grandfather who used to toddle me on his knee (I believe it was his knee), and sing to me what he used to call "The Sweet Poontang Song":

Nigga!!

Sally in the holler

Franny in the Glen

They're the best piemakers

There have ever been

Spend the week a-makin' pie for all the men

Take a nap on Sundy then they're bakin' again

Poontang pie! Poontang pie!

Gramps would sing that song and we'd laugh and laugh. The queer old bastard.

The Poon-tang River, completely coincidentally, is a river in Vietnam. During the Vietnam War, many American GIs bathed in the Poon-tang River.
