"Dec 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy." - F.D.R.
In the halls of our better known Congress. After they did the right thing and started the War on Hitler.
"Praise the Lord and pass the Ammunition." - Lieutenant Howell "Ass Kicker" Forgy - Chaplin U.S.S New Orleans (Pronounced Nuh Awluns)
He was asked to say a prayer for the men who were engaged in the firing at the on-coming Japanese planes. The chaplain put down his bible, manned one of the ship's gun turrets, and begin firing back, saying, "Praise The Lord and pass the ammunition". Some doubt this lyrically documented tale of Patriotism.
