Tennessee's 9th District, The Fightin' 9th! was profiled in Part 42 of the 434 part series Better Know A District on the March 1, 2007 edition of The Colbert Report.

It is represented in Congress by black woman Steve Cohen.

The 9th contains the city of Memphis, which boasts the home of Elvis Presley, Graceland. It is the third most visited house in the nation, after only the White House and the International House of Pancakes.

Memphis is also the childhood home of famed bluesman B.B. King and his guitar Lucille, his shoes Emily and Josephine and his watch Linda. He treats his diabetes with his insulin syringe Sheldon.

Memphis' most historic hotel, the Peabody, is famous for the "Peabody Duck March," where every day a line of ducks parade through the lobby on a red carpet. What keeps the ducks so punctual and orderly? It's the hotel restaurant's most famous dish, Straggler á la Orange.
