Aptostichus stephencolberti (ap-TAS’-tih-kus Sti-vn Kole-ˈber-é) is a rather large-balled species of trapdoor spider named by Dr. Jason Bond after spider-enthusiast Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, D.F.A.Episode #432. It is also the most Patriotic of all trapdoor spiders, well known for marching in parades to Support Our Troops from Big Sur to San Francisco.
